A man has been charged with the murder of Elle Edwards, who was fatally shot while enjoying Christmas Eve with her pals at a pub.

Connor Chapman, 22 years old, who was photographed for the first time today, came at Wirral Magistrates Court this morning in a prison van accompanied by unmarked police vehicles.

Ms. Edwards, age 26, was struck in the head at 11:50 p.m. while drinking at the Lighthouse Inn in Wallasey, a village near Liverpool, with her sister and friends.

A gunman killed her after she became involved in what is thought to be a fight between narcotics groups.

Police have stated that the young beautician was not the original victim of the gunfire, which was believed to be part of a botched revenge strike.

Following Chapman’s arrest on January 11, Detective Superintendent Sue Coombs stated, ‘This takes the total number of arrests in connection with Elle’s awful murder to five.’

Although our dedicated teams throughout Merseyside Police are conducting comprehensive investigation and a large deal of intelligence has been gathered, I would still ask that anyone with information who has not yet come forward do so.

If they do not choose to communicate with authorities directly, they could contact Crimestoppers, where they can provide information in confidence.

Today, a prison van believed to be transporting Chapman arrives at Wirral Magistrates Court.

At the inquest held on January 5 at the Gerard Majella Courthouse in Liverpool, coroner Anita Bhardwaj stated, ‘This is such a tragic death of a beautiful young woman who had so much to contribute both professionally and emotionally.

As parents, I believe we can all agree that nothing can prepare us for the death of a child, and I believe we can only image what the parents and family are going through.

Ms. Edwards, whose occupation was listed as dental nurse/cosmetologist, was pronounced dead on Christmas Day at Arrowe Park Hospital after being transported there from a pub.

Ms. Bhardwaj stated, ‘Others were also shot at that spot, but unfortunately Elle was the victim.’

The preliminary cause of death was listed as head gunshot wounds.

Ms. Bhardwaj stated that she will handover the body of Ms. Edwards to her family.

She stated that toxicology analysis would be performed before a complete autopsy report.

The inquest was postponed until May 5, at which time Ms. Bhardwaj would provide an update on the police investigation.

Tim Edwards, the father of Elle Edwards, spoke at a press conference at the Merseyside Police Headquarters in Liverpool on his daughter’s shooting on Christmas Eve.

In an extraordinary and heartfelt message, her father stated, ‘She cherished life and had so many fantastic plans for the future. There was no one more stunning than lovely Elle May.

Mr. Edwards stated, “We will always love and miss her.” Our Elle May, the most beautiful and brilliant star in existence, forever and ever. She is the love of my life, the center of my universe, and my closest companion. She will always radiate beauty and brilliance.

Her younger sister, Lucy Edwards, posted a heartfelt tribute on social media, stating, “I shouldn’t be waking up on New Year’s Day without you.”

Lucy posted a series of images and videos of her sister on Instagram with the caption, ‘I miss you so much, sis. Elle May you always be my best friend, sidekick, crime partner, soul mate, and older sister.

You are the kindest person I have ever met, and you only wanted the best for me.

“I miss everything about you, especially our daily catch-ups and long drives, during which we would blast the music and sing so loudly that people in traffic would laugh at us, but we never cared because we were always in our own bubble.”
