Chief Constable Serena Kennedy stated that those responsible for the Christmas Eve shooting are “cowards” for resorting to such violence and that they “deserve to spend every Christmas in prison.”

Chief Constable Kennedy stated that Elle was doing what any member of the community should be free to do on Christmas Eve: enjoying herself with friends and her sister while celebrating the holidays.

Two suspects, a 30-year-old male and a 19-year-old woman, are now in custody and being questioned in regard to the murder, when the police chief makes this promise.

Elle Edwards was shot in the head at 11:50 p.m. while enjoying Christmas in the Lighthouse Inn in Wallasey, a village near Liverpool, with her sister and friends.

Ms. Edwards, a 26-year-old beautician, was administered CPR by partygoers who urgently attempted to save her life, but she was pronounced dead at the site.

That evening, four others within the bar received gunshot wounds.

As a mother of two daughters of a similar age to Elle, Chief Constable Kennedy stated, “I cannot begin to comprehend what they are going through right now. However, I do know that they will carry the weight of Elle’s loss for the rest of their lives, and a significant portion of their lives will always be missing.”

In a hard-hitting statement, she referred to the perpetrators as “cowards” and said, “Detectives are continuing their investigations and will be relentless in their efforts to determine what led up to the incident on Christmas Eve and who was responsible for this sickening and heartbreaking incident, which has ruined so many lives and resulted in the death of a beautiful young woman.”

“On Christmas Day morning, I went to Wallasey Village to meet with officers and members of the public, and I personally observed the devastation this has caused for the residents of Wallasey Village.”

“Firearms, violence, and intimidation have no place in our society, and tragically, they are frequently employed to handle trivial and pitiful matters.”

These people are cowards who believe that the only way to settle a dispute is by violence; they lack the fortitude and resolve to negotiate and prevent the situation from reaching such a terrible and tragic finish.Elle Edwards' father, Tim Edwards lays a floral tribute to his daughter on Monday outside the Lighthouse Inn in Wallasey Village where she was killed on Christmas Eve
