He named the shooter, locally known as “Warhead,” who was later released.

The man charged claimed that Warhead had been identified by his tattoos, including a teardrop under his right eye and “666” on his hands, as well as his distinctive yellow-patched Mohican hairstyle.

Warhead was believed to be the leader of the Sick Head gang.

Gang Connections and a Possible Motive It has been suggested that Jerome may have been an unintended victim of a gang shooting gone wrong, as the Sick Head gang had been known to engage in a range of criminal activities.

In 2009, seven members of the Sick Head gang were jailed for 27 years in total for a variety of offenses, mostly involving breaking into and stealing from homes and businesses across three counties.

However, no further information about the gang exists after the man charged with the murder mentioned Warhead in court.

Investigations into the Unsolved Murder The Metropolitan Police launched an investigation into the murder of Jerome Edwards, but nobody has been arrested or charged for the crime since late 2013.

Detective Chief Inspector Glen Lloyd, at the time of the murder, appealed to anyone who was present at the party or in the surrounding area after 4 am on the morning of the shooting to come forward with any information.

The case appears to have gone cold, with no recent updates from the police.

Commentary

The unsolved murder of Jerome Edwards is a tragic reminder of the impact of gun violence and gang activity on communities.

It is disheartening that, despite a suspect being named, nobody has been held accountable for his death.

It is also concerning that the Sick Head gang had been involved in a range of criminal activities, including breaking into homes and businesses, yet there is little information about the group or its members beyond what was revealed during the court hearing.

It is essential that we continue to prioritize the prevention of gang activity and gun violence and hold those responsible for such crimes accountable to prevent future tragedies like the death of Jerome Edwards.
