Prince Harry did not expect his “ginger gene” to be dominant in his and Meghan Markle’s offspring.

The Duke of Sussex told Stephen Colbert on Tuesday’s “Late Show” that he feared the ginger gene wouldn’t be able to compete with his wife’s genes should their romance last and they decide to have children.

Harry, whose three-year-old son Archie and one-year-old daughter Lilibet also have red hair, admitted, “I was wrong.”

The 38-year-old then pumped his fist and said, “Go, redskins!”

When asked by the late-night host if the children remind him of any family members, Harry responded that they “definitely” resemble his late mother, Princess Diana.

“The Spencer gene is extremely potent,” he explained. “The ginger gene is powerful.”

Last month, the duke, who is wrapping up a press trip to promote his biography “Spare,” described his youngest child as “very Spencer-like.”

While describing Lilibet’s “blue, blue, blue eyes” and “golden, reddish hair” in his and Markle’s December 2022 “Harry & Meghan” documentary series, the former military pilot exclaimed that he sees “a lot” of Princess Diana in the toddler.

Regarding Archie, Harry admitted, “I see a lot of my wife in him at the moment.”

In May of 2019, the couple welcomed their son while residing in England. By the time their daughter was born in June 2021, the couple resided in California and had renounced their royal obligations.

In “Spare,” Harry talks openly about his decision to leave the United Kingdom and his fragile connection with his family.

Although the prince believes that the royals have “obviously” attempted to “undermine” the publication of the explosive book, he told Colbert that writing it was “cathartic.”

Harry disclosed during a Sunday appearance on “60 Minutes” that he is “currently… out of touch” with his father, King Charles III, and his brother, Prince William.

“Meghan and I have maintained that we will apologize publicly for anything we did wrong,” he told Anderson Cooper, emphasizing his desire for a future “private” and “constructive conversation.”

In an ITV interview that aired on Sunday, Harry refused to confirm if he and the “Suits” actress, 41, would attend Charles’ coronation in May.

“Many things can occur between now and then,” he remarked. The ball is now in their court.
