Individuals enrolling in a PhD program in their native country are eligible for SANDWICH Fellowships. A minimum of 12 months and a maximum of two years may be given for the Fellowship.
Fellowships available full-time for people not pursuing a PhD The initial period of the Fellowship is up to three years. Depending on the student’s performance, these Fellowships may then be extended for a further two years. A PhD program will accept applicants at an Indian institution. Any such extensions will be communicated by DBT to TWAS and the applicant.
Eligibility for TWAS-DBT Postgraduate Fellowship Program
being 35 years old at the latest on December 31 of the application year.

possess a master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
For SANDWICH Fellowships, applicants must be enrolled as PhD students at their HOME universities and provide a “Registration and No Objection Certificate” (a example is supplied in the application form); OR
For FULL-TIME Fellowships, you must be prepared to enroll in an Indian institution.

Postgraduate Fellowship Program via TWAS-DBT A monthly stipend will be provided by Cost DBT to cover living expenses, food expenses, and health insurance. There will be no currency exchange for the monthly payment. The recipient of the fellowship will also get help with housing costs.
