McPherson University’s Master of Business Administration Postgraduate Admission Requirements
a. Doctorate in Computer Science
A Bachelor of Science in any comparable field or a Higher National Diploma in Computer Science may be considered for admission.
(b) Master of Science in Computer Science
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a minimum grade of Second Class Lower from an accredited university.
A candidate with a Third Class B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field and a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science or a related field may be considered for admission. Holders of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science or a related field from a recognized university and a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Computer Science or a related field are eligible for admission.
They must have completed the necessary one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, unless they have been exempted or excluded.
d) Doctorate in Computer Science
Candidates must meet M.Sc. admission requirements. Ph.D. candidates must have earned an M.Sc. in Computer Science from McPherson University or another accredited institution with a grade point average of at least 60 percent. On the recommendation of the Head of Department, an M.Phil candidate who has demonstrated outstanding aptitude may be transferred to Ph.D. candidacy at the end of the third semester.
They must have completed the necessary one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, unless they have been exempted or excluded.
Basic Admission Requirements for the MBA
The admission requirements for the MBA will be as follows:
The minimum qualification for M.B.A. candidates is five credit passes at O’ Level, comprising English Language, Mathematics, and three additional subjects.
Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Economics, Insurance, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. Candidate must receive a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division.
HND with professional credentials
HND and PGD
Professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, ANAN, ACMA, ACIT, AIB, ACIS) plus a Postgraduate Diploma in any of the Management Sciences.
Bachelor’s degree holders in any other field with industry experience are eligible to apply. Candidate must achieve a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in their Bachelor’s degree program.
They must have either completed the necessary one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) course or been exempted from it.
Additional Requirements
Post-qualification experience provides potential candidates with a distinct advantage.
For MCU-MBA, foreign applicants must demonstrate English language ability.
Master of Science in Accounting Entrance Requirements
The admission requirements for the Master of Science in Accounting will be as follows:
Basic requirements for the M.Sc. in Accounting are five credit passes in O’ Level topics including English Language, Mathematics, Economics/Commerce/Accounting, and two other commercial or social science disciplines.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.Sc.) in Accounting, Finance, Banking and Finance, or Economics with at least a Second Class Lower Division. The candidates must possess degrees from accredited and registered universities.
They must have either completed the necessary one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) course or been exempted from it.
