Three South African Post Office Workers Shot Dead in Eastern Cape

On April 17, three female South African Post Office (SAPO) employees were shot dead in Flagstaff, Eastern Cape, while in another incident on April 18, three men robbed the Post Office in Main Street, Flagstaff.

The suspects stopped a white Ford Ranger on a gravel road and opened fire.

The victims, aged between 30 and 37, were fatally wounded.

The suspects remain at large, and police have opened a case of murder for further investigation.

In another incident on April 18, three unknown gunmen stormed the Flagstaff Post Office in Main Street, held employees at gunpoint, and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and the employees’ cellphones.

Eastern Cape police commissioner Lieutenant-General Nomthetheleli Mene has activated a task team to track down the perpetrators and condemned the incidents.
