The second batch of Christian Pilgrims to Jerusalem and the Kingdom of Jordan continues with intercessory prayers for Lagos State and Nigeria

The second batch of Christian pilgrims to Jerusalem and the Kingdom of Jordan has continued to offer intercessory prayers for Nigeria and Lagos State’s stability as well as for the welfare of people and families all around the nation.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr. Sewedo Oluseyi Whenu, led the pilgrims in prayer at Bethlehem, Israel, and stated that prayer is the way to any challenging circumstance.

Whenu reemphasized the importance of fervent prayer in order to preserve the relative peace that Lagos currently enjoys in comparison to other States, and he urged pilgrims to pray for the country’s growth and prosperity.

Rt. Rev. Babatunde Akinpelu-Johnson, the chairman of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB), also led the pilgrims in intercessory prayers for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his family, asking that God continue to grant them divine wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to guide the State toward prosperity. They also prayed for the governor’s cabinet members and the general public.

Very Rev. Ayo Olu Oyadotun, the previous presiding chaplain of the Chapel of Christ the Light in Alausa, Ikeja, prayed for peace to rule in Nigeria on his behalf. He emphasised that those plotting to destabilise the nation and make it ungovernable will be exposed.

Additionally speaking, Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe, Board Secretary of LSCPWB, emphasised the necessity for pilgrims to focus more on the spiritual than the social aspects of the exercise and asked them to maintain intercessory prayers after the activity.

The Onisabe of Igbobi Sabe, Oba Owolabi Adeyemi Adeniyi, the Alara of Ilara, Epe, Oba Folarin Ogunsanwo, the former Permanent Secretary of the Public Service Office (PSO), Mr. Samson Ajibade, the former CAN Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter, and others were present at the early devotion.
