Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB) airlifts the second batch of 150 pilgrims

The Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB) airlifted the second batch of 150 pilgrims to the Holy Land of Israel and the Kingdom of Jordan on Wednesday as the first batch of pilgrims arrived in Israel and Jordan.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr. Sewedo Oluseyi Whenu, addressed the aspiring pilgrims at the Chapel of Christ the Light in Alausa, Ikeja and cautioned them to represent themselves, their families, Lagos, Nigeria, and the church of Christ well while abroad, saying, “It is a spiritual journey ordained by God for you to seek His Face for yourself, family, Lagos, and Nigeria.”

The Permanent Secretary expressed gratitude to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for supporting the pilgrimage and creating a supportive environment for the body of Christ in Lagos State while advising the pilgrims to adhere to Christian principles and maintain their focus.

The Chairman of the LSCPWB, Rt. Rev. Babatunde Akinpelu-Johnson, urged the pilgrims in his remarks to embrace the atmosphere at the historical sites and take advantage of the chance to deepen their faith and relationship with God.

He also urged participants to imitate Christ by acting in a way that would set an example for others back at home.

The first batch of pilgrims travelling to Israel and the Kingdom of Jordan has already arrived in the country. Whenu expressed his joy at the pilgrims’ safe arrival and thanked God for a smooth operation, stressing that there had been no cases of abscondment. He thanked the pilgrims for their cooperation and patience and said that the exercise’s success was a monument to the effectiveness of LSCPWB officers. He also made an assurance that the Board’s officials would continue to offer exceptional services.
