Saturday marked the conclusion of the Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies’ season in the Hollywoodbets Super League with a come-from-behind 4-2 victory over Richmond United Ladies. Banyana Ba Style has won the league championship for the third straight season.
Salome Kekana, Lelona Daweti, Melinda Kgadiete, and Lehlogonolo Mashigo scored goals to help the Chloorkop team end with an outstanding 27 victories in 30 matches.
Sedilame Bosija maintained her position between the pipes, while Karabo Makhurubetshi, Tiisetso Makhubela, Salome Kekana, and Khutso Pila anchored the defensive line. Boitumelo Rabale, Oratile Mokwena, and Lelona Daweti began in midfield, but Lehlogonolo Mashigo was tasked with a greater offensive role with Miche Minnies and Thembelihle Masibi.
Salome Kekana scored her sixth goal in her maiden season with Masandawana as the hosts sprinted to an early lead. In first-half extra time, Richmond United took the lead to send the home team into the locker room with a 2-1 advantage.
Daweti equalized the score with a daring effort from the edge of the penalty area after the resumption of play.
Melinda Kgadiete and Lehlogonolo Mashigo scored late goals as Banyana Ba Style finished the season on a high note with a dramatic 4-2 comeback victory over Richmond United.
At the conclusion of the game, the Hollywoodbets Super League trophy was delivered to Sundowns Ladies amid the delight of the players, coaches, and technical staff.
Yes, we have officially won the Hollywoodbets Super League after a very lengthy season. Three consecutive championships indicate that we are doing the right things, and we are grateful to the Hollywoodbets Super League for the league’s overall structure. Despite the fact that we would have liked to defend the championships we won last season, we cannot be disappointed since we still have cause for celebration. Boitumelo Rabale concluded as the Sundown’s leading scorer with 24 goals, while Miche Minnies finished her rookie season with 22 goals. Andisiwe Mgcoyi scored a total of 12 goals, while Melinda Kgadiete scored 11 goals. Both Rhoda Mulaudzi and Lelona Daweti scored eight goals.
