Second false gunshot call in two days at Marjorie Taylor Greene’s house

According to Rome, Georgia police, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s house was’swatted’ on Thursday for the second time in a row.

When the police knocked on the door, the hoax caller threatened to shoot them and claimed to be a transgender person who had just murdered their family.

Swatting is the practise of making a bogus 911 call to a person’s residence in an attempt to summon police or other emergency personnel to swarm the house.

Just before 3am on Thursday, police received a call that looked to be from a suicide aid line, according to the police report acquired by DailyMail.com.

Police came, and when Greene opened the door to let them in, they explained their presence to her.

The caller identified himself as “Wayne Greene,” however according to the police report, the call “came in as if it was from a suicide crisis centre but it was not over a phone, it was through an online chat.”

According to the complaint, the suspect threatened to kill anybody who attempted to stop them from stopping them from shooting themselves after coming out as transgender and claiming they shot the family.

If the second occurrence is connected to the first is unclear.

It follows the’swatting’ of Greene’s house early on Wednesday morning, according to neighbourhood police and the congresswoman herself.

Officers “responded to a 911 call pertaining to a victim being shot several times at a residence inside the city boundaries,” the Rome Police Department said.

According to the police report that DailyMail.com was able to get, the caller said that a male had been shot and that a wife and children could still be inside the house.

The caller seemed to be upset with Greene’s position on transgender Americans.

According to police, they learned “this was the residence of Marjorie Taylor Greene” after making the first of two 911 calls.

The statement states, “She told the police there was no problem and the call was discovered to be a fraudulent call popularly known as “swatting.”

Officers “got a second call from the suspect who was using a computer produced voice claiming that he or she was outraged about Mrs. Greene’s political perspective on transgender juvenile rights,” the statement says.

According to the police report that goes with it, the individual informed the officers that they were connected to a website “that facilitates cyberstalking.”

Additionally, it implies that the individual is a Richmond, Virginia native.

Just before 9am, the Donald Trump loyalist hailed her neighbourhood police force in a tweet and promised to provide additional details.

“Last night, shortly after 1 am, I was swatted. I can’t thank my local police enforcement enough here in Rome, Floyd County. More information will be released,’ Greene tweeted.

In a statement to DailyMail.com, her office acknowledged that Greene’s house was the target of a “political assault.”

“At the moment, Congresswoman Greene’s safety is our first priority. Her family and house were the targets of a political assault late last evening, according to Greene’s office.

“Whoever perpetrated this horrific act will face the full force of the law,” the statement reads.

Swatting often comprises calling emergency services on purpose in order to trick them into sending police to someone’s house.

Since the FBI conducted an unauthorised search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida in recent weeks, Greene has been at the forefront of GOP criticism of federal law enforcement.

In connection with a National Archives search for sensitive materials, the FBI carried out a search warrant at the Palm Beach house in the wee hours of August 8.

Trump’s friends like Greene and Rep. Elise Stefanik, the chair of the GOP Conference, denounced the raid as a weaponization of the Justice Department and asked that Merrick Garland, the attorney general, and Christopher Wray, the director of the FBI, face penalties.

Other Republicans have criticised it, citing official concerns of an uptick in violent threats against federal law enforcement personnel as a result of the FBI operation.
