Husband saves wife at Central Coast’s Frazer Beach

In a frantic attempt to save a couple from drowning, surfers described how the husband urged them to “save his wife first.”

After his wife was pulled out into deep water by a rip on Wednesday at Frazer Beach on the Central Coast, the guy jumped into the ocean.

But almost immediately after swimming out to assist her in the choppy surf, he too started to suffer.

At 4.20 p.m., the couple—who have not yet been officially recognized but are thought to be in their 40s—were hauled from the ocean unconscious while their autistic daughter, age 6, watched in fear from the beach.

After work, Shaun McKeachie and Bodhi King were exploring the waters when they heard the ocean pleading for assistance.

Despite the “extremely tough” circumstances, the friends—both builders—ran down to the sea in an effort to save the terrified husband and wife.

According to Mr. McKeachie, “(The husband) was in anguish and was just yelling, “Rescue my wife, save my wife.”

In order to get the lady back to land, the two hauled her out of the sea and placed her on a surfboard.

We brought her to shore and proceeded to rescue the other person despite the fact that she was already lifeless, according to Mr. King.

The event is being investigated by Tuggerah Lakes Police District officers, and a report will be written for the coroner.

19 coastal drownings have occurred in NSW since December, all on unguarded beaches.

Although Frazer Beach is a well-liked destination for campers and surfers, the three kilometers of coastline south of Catherine Hill Bay have become infamous for drownings, taking 20 fatalities since 2010.
