Man and woman drown at Frazer Beach

Man and woman drown at Frazer Beach

At a well-known surf area on the Central Coast, two people drowned.

At 4.20 pm on Wednesday, the two were hauled unconscious from the ocean onto Frazer Beach, close to Catherine Hill Bay.

Before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived on the site, bystanders started doing CPR.

They were not able to be revived, despite the paramedics’ best attempts.

Although the man and woman have not yet been officially named, it is thought that they are in their 40s.

The event is being investigated by Tuggerah Lakes Police District officers, and a report will be written for the coroner.

Although there are no lifeguards on duty at Frazer Beach, it is a well-liked destination for campers.

Approximately 100 kilometers north of Sydney is where the beach is.

Twenty people have drowned along a three-kilometer stretch of the shore south of Catherine Hill Bay since 2010, making the region relatively infamous for drownings.

More will follow.
