British Transport Police looks for Swansea-Llanell train sexual assault witnesses

On Thursday, February 9, a woman was sexually assaulted by two men on a train travelling from Swansea to Llanelli.

The British Transport Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The victim boarded the train from Cardiff to Fishguard at 4.02 pm and sat in the back carriage.

Two men joined the train at Swansea at around 5 pm and sat beside her.

They attempted to engage her in unwanted conversations, and on several occasions, both men inappropriately touched her.

The men left the train at Llanelli at around 5.20 pm. Two fellow travellers who had witnessed the incident asked the victim if she was okay.

The British Transport Police has described the first man as white, 5ft 5” tall, with brown hair, clean shaven, average build, and carrying a backpack.

He spoke with a thick Polish accent. The second man was white, taller than the first, with brown hair, a short beard, and a slender build. He, too, spoke with a thick Polish accent.

It is believed that one of the men wore baggy green cargo trousers.

Officers are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward and assist with the investigation.

They can do so by calling 0800 40 50 40 or texting 61016 with reference 23000015448.

Information can also be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
