Police sources have reported that Thomas H. Lee, a billionaire financier and investor, was discovered deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his office on Thursday morning.
The authorities received a 911 call at approximately 11:10 a.m. from the location of Thomas H. Lee Capital, LLC, situated at 767 Fifth Avenue’s sixth floor. Emergency medical technicians who responded to the scene pronounced the 78-year-old businessman deceased.
The official cause of death will be established by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. On Thursday afternoon, a woman who answered the phone at Lee Equity Partners declined to comment, and a man who answered the phone listed for Lee’s wife, Ann Tenenbaum, stated, “We have no comment.”
