Billionaire financier Thomas H. Lee was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head

Billionaire financier Thomas H. Lee was discovered dead in his office bathroom with a gunshot wound to his head and a Smith & Wesson revolver beside him by his female assistant.

Lee, aged 78, was found in his Fifth Avenue headquarters in an apparent suicide shortly after 11 am on Thursday.

The Harvard graduate had a net worth of approximately $2 billion at the time of his death. According to sources, Lee’s associates had not heard from him, prompting his assistant to search for him.

When first responders arrived at the scene, they found Lee lying on his side with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
