After a mishap on the New York City subway, a boy gets his arm “amputated.”

When trying to subway surf at a Queens station early on Monday, a youngster tripped and fell on the rails between subway vehicles, losing his left arm.

The adolescent was reportedly aboard a northbound R train with a group of companions when he slid at the Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue station and wound up on the rails while attempting to climb to the top of the train.

The train then severed his arm as it departed the station shortly before 10.30am, according to the New York Post.

Before 11.30 am, the kid was taken by ambulance to Bellevue Hospital, where his status was classified as stable.

Since then, the MTA has said that delays are anticipated and that northbound M and R trains are avoiding Roosevelt Avenue while police continue their investigation.

As they investigated the area for any evidence, they blocked off the entrance to the station’s northbound platform. Soon after, MTA workers were seen hopping onto the subway rail, where they also looked to be gathering evidence.

Before the platform filled with angry New Yorkers irritated with the continuous delays, another MTA employee was spotted cleaning the platform where the blood had spilled.
