A schoolboy dies following a ‘serious incident’ at a fairground

Following a “serious incident” at a fairground this morning, a schoolboy has passed away.

Around 7.45 am, emergency personnel were called to the Forrest Family Fair in a park near Dover, Kent.

Police have sealed off the parks where the fair was taking place, and the fire department and ambulance service are also on the site.

Since the fair wasn’t scheduled to open until later today, an investigation has been started to determine exactly what transpired.

The fair’s operator, Forrest Amusements, declined to comment to MailOnline.

A representative declined to comment further when questioned about local claims that a group had broken in and began a ride before the disaster.

The Showmen’s Guild of Great Britain was unable to respond to inquiries about the incident right away.

Although the exact circumstances of the occurrence are yet unknown, South East Coast Ambulance Service has reported that a teenage boy was discovered dead at the scene.

A spokesperson said: ‘We were called at 7.42am this morning to a serious incident at Pencester Gardens in Dover.

‘We immediately dispatched a number of clinical resources to the scene, including our HART team and Critical Care Paramedics, however, sadly, a teenage boy was pronounced as deceased at the scene.’

A road that runs alongside the park was temporarily closed to traffic but has now been opened.

A representative for Kent Police acknowledged that the police was called to the scene, but said that no unusual circumstances had been reported.

A report has been made to the Health and Safety Executive.

The service had been summoned to the area to help police, a Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman also said.
