A woman was discovered dead at a Sussex residence, prompting police to open a murder inquiry.
The police arrested a 64-year-old man known to the victim on suspicion of murder.
Monday at 12:37 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Shoreham residence after receiving complaints that a 59-year-old lady had been assaulted.
Additionally, paramedics were dispatched, but the woman was pronounced dead at the site.
Her relatives have been notified and are receiving assistance from specialized officers.
The individual, who is 64 years old, remains in police custody.
According to Sussex Police, there is no threat to the greater community.
