In Atlanta, Georgia, a woman went into labor inside the restroom of a McDonald’s, where her fiance and three employees rushed to assist with the delivery.

11Alive News stated that Nandi Ariyah Moremi Phillips was born healthy and given the nickname ‘Little Nugget’ by her parents, who referred to the ordeal as a “Thanksgiving blessing.”

On Wednesday around 3 a.m., Alandria Worthy began to experience contractions. She deferred going to the hospital because she anticipated “hours of pushing”

However, at 7:30 a.m., her contractions were harder and closer together, approximately a minute and a half apart, and she felt “it was time.”

Worthy needed to use the restroom on the way to the hospital, which was 45 minutes away from the Airbnb they were staying in because they had recently moved to the area.

When Deandra Phillips’ fiancée pulled up to the local McDonald’s for a bathroom break, she went into full labor.

Worthy stated that her water broke and then everything happened so quickly that she began yelling from the restrooms to alert employees outside, ‘I’m in labor.’ She said in part, “Someone get the man inside the car.”

The general manager, Tunisia Woodward, initially believed it was a joke, but when she came into the restroom and saw the woman screaming on the toilet, she realized it was no joke.

Woodward stated, “I knew to inform my crew; we’re delivering a kid today.”

Woodward and her two coworkers, Sha’querria Kaigler and Keisha Blue-Murray, became obstetric nurses rapidly.

While Kaigler contacted 911, Blue-Murray assisted Worthy’s fiancée, Deandra Phillips, who went into the McDonald’s to find the expectant mother’screaming on the toilet.’

Phillips, who described her as “frantic,” attempted to calm her by instructing her to take a deep breath. As all three staff were in a position to help with the birthing process.

I had her feet propped up on my knees as the McDonald’s employees held her hands at her front. We instructed her to push three times,’ Phillips explained.

I can see her head! I see her head!’ he said before instructing her to continue pushing.

After three pushes, Nandi, also known as Little Nugget, was born.

Phillips stated, “She flew onto my hand.”

The doting father referred to his arrival to the McDonald’s and the assistance he received from three McDonald’s employees as “divine intervention.”

The local McDonald’s owner, Steve Akinboro, was ecstatic with his employees’ good deed and gave them each a $250 gift card to assist with their Thanksgiving dinner celebrations.

Akinboro stated, “We don’t just provide food, we seek to serve feel-good moments every day, and this was the ultimate of a feel-good moment for my employees.”

He said, “These three Atlanta-based employees are an excellent illustration of how our team positively impacts our consumers and local communities.”

Alandria and Deandre Phillips, the new parents, were overjoyed.

They said that both Nandi Ariyah Morémi Phillips’ mother and daughter are in good health.

Worthy continued, “Life is incredible right now; I never imagined I would deliver my own child.”
