After casually lowering her trousers at a bar, the mother gave birth to a child, who then slipped out onto the floor.
On Thursday, a video showing the lady giving birth while stooping forward was shared on social media. The delivery took place inside the Raintree Tavern in Cairns.
Unusual CCTV footage shows a big security man at the location picking up and hugging the baby after attempting to grab it.
After the unexpected arrival, the fatigued lady can be seen looking at the floor and checking her phone.
She was hurrying into the dining room of the bar, dressed in a black and white T-shirt and grey leggings.
The mother unzipped her trousers and knelt down next to an Iron Jack beer sign, but she kept her balance when the security guard approached for a closer inspection.
As the guard leapt forward to attempt to rescue the baby, the newborn was seen falling from the woman’s body; however, the baby seemed to land on the carpeted floor.
The mom, who was still standing and leaning down with her trousers about her knees, seemed relieved when the guard knelt down to pick up the child.
The worker held the tiny infant in his arms before leaving; on the video, the umbilical cord of the newborn is visible.
The worrying pub event sparked immediate discussion on social media, with one user calling it “really unbelievable.”
One person said, “This woman just gave birth on the floor of the Cairns Tavern!”
Another person said, “[The guard] has to update his résumé.”
The newborn’s status is still uncertain following the quick delivery.
The Raintree Tavern refuses to respond to inquiries about the event.
