WATCH: Thugs drive car along Aberystwyth promenade

This is the moment a car is driven towards them on a beach promenade, sending terrified clubbers fleeing for their life.

As the automobile drove up the seaside promenade outside a nightclub, CCTV captured people running to get out of the way.

Richard Allen, 31, Darren Dragoonis, 35, and Jack Smith, 27, were involved in a ‘disgraceful’ altercation in Aberystwyth, West Wales, during a night out.

The trio were ‘obviously upset’ after a fight over a lighter with another partygoer, according to the court, and one of them hit a woman in the face.

The three then turned on her friend Timothy Arthur-Darkwa, who was attempting to defend her and another man who was being assaulted.

Their victims were allegedly assaulted with punches, kicks, and blows from a piece of wood before Allen got behind the wheel of his car, according to the court.

Allen drove the truck towards Mr Arthur-Darkwa and ran over his toes as he tried to approach it.

In October 2019, Birmingham’s Allen and Dragoonis, as well as Solihull’s Smith, admitted to affray in connection with the incident.

Judge Huw Rees told Swansea Crown Court that the three may avoid jail time right away because they had’matured’ since the brawl.

‘You were welcomed at Aberystwyth, a well-known tourist town, and you turned the greeting around on them,’ he added.

‘How would you feel, as fathers, if your children were out and about in Aberystwyth and saw anything like this?’ It’s a complete embarrassment.’

Allen received a 22-month suspended sentence, while Smith and Dragoonis both received a 16-month suspension.
