Boy ‘nearly murders man on Blackpool Promenade, then takes his bags’

A 16-year-old kid was charged with robbery and placed under detention after “shocking” video of a guy being battered surfaced.

Additionally, a 16-year-old girl who is thought to have recorded the event has been detained.

In the attack’s footage, a guy in his 40s is seen sitting on Blackpool Promenade on Wednesday morning, “totally defenceless” and “minding his own business.”

Near the lifeboat station in the beach resort, a different man approaches him and begs him for a “spare cig” before yelling at him.

The guy is claimed to have handed him the cigarette he was smoking, but when he refused to hand up “everything,” the kid threatened to beat him until he lost consciousness.

After repeatedly beating and kicking the victim, the assailant picks up his bag and walks away.

According to Lancashire Police, the man suffered several fractured bones, severe cuts, and bruises, but ‘luckily’ no life-threatening wounds.

One senior officer deemed it “very lucky” that there was no “murder investigation” as a result of the assault.

The degree of aggression demonstrated by the suspect in the video, according to det supt. Becky Smith, “is quite honestly quite unsettling and unjustifiable.”

Detectives said a 16-year-old boy who was charged with robbery over the incident appeared at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court today and will next appear at Blackpool Youth Court on September 15.

A 16-year-old girl was also detained by police this evening on suspicion of planning a robbery. She is still being held.

After repeatedly beating and kicking the victim, the assailant picks up his bag and walks away.

The man had multiple fractured bones, severe scrapes, and bruises, but ‘luckily’ no life-threatening wounds, according to lancashire police.

In the unsettling footage, a child approaching the guy as he sits alone on a step smoking is seen wearing a headgear, a black shirt, and grey shorts.

“I simply wanted to ask you, do you have a spare cig?” the youngster yells. That is all I’m asking you for, boy. I just want a cigarette.

The father hands the boy his smoke and urges him to “relax.”

He accepts it and declares, “Yeah, f****** have it.” Do you understand the reason? because I f****** want it. Now give me all of your s***. everything, you f***** fool. Do you really believe I’m kidding, lad?

The guy attempts to soothe him, but this just makes the youngster more irate, asking, “Why should I f****** relax out?”

The victim begs, “That was my last cigarette,” but the kid answers by kicking him in the head viciously, sending him to the ground.

He continually punches him in the face as he stands over him, yelling, “Did I F****** Ask What Your Last Cigarette Was?” Did I really ask that? Pass me your luggage right now, please.

‘We tweeted earlier today about the awful footage of the guy being abused and robbed on the prom and we informed you that a 16-year-old kid had been detained and charged with robbery,’ a force spokeswoman said in a statement sent to lancs live.

Just to keep you informed, he recently appeared in magistrate court and was remanded into jail.

On September 15, he will next be in front of the Blackpool Youth Court.

We also wanted to inform you that a 16-year-old girl was detained this afternoon on suspicion of planning a robbery.

We think she was the one who recorded the event. She’s being held right now.

Some individuals have questioned the decision to prosecute the youngster with robbery. Robbery is a severe offence with a life sentence as the maximum punishment.

Theft from another while threatening or physically harming the victim constitutes the crime.

“Of course, we will take into account any further relevant charges after considering all the available evidence.”

“We would want to emphasise once again that such levels of violence will not be accepted in our communities and we will tenaciously prosecute those who perpetrate such horrible acts,” it reads.

“The amount of aggression demonstrated by this suspect against a perfectly defenceless individual who is sat down doing his own thing is quite simply really unsettling and reprehensible,” det supt. smith said.

This crime is made much worse by the fact that the accomplice felt the need to video and witness the disgusting occurrence from a close location while doing nothing to stop it or help the man who was obviously gravely hurt.

“The amount of aggression demonstrated by this suspect towards a perfectly defenceless individual who is sat down doing his own thing is quite simply really upsetting and unacceptable,” said detective superintendent becky smith.

The fact that an accomplice felt it necessary to remain close, observe, and even record this heinous conduct while doing nothing to stop it or help the man who was obviously gravely hurt makes the crime much worse.

“I have seen some incredibly painful and upsetting occurrences in my almost 29 years of police in Blackpool, and we are very lucky that I am not standing here today conducting a murder investigation and offering assistance to a grieving family.

The fact that this isn’t the case doesn’t affect the suspect’s behaviour, who left the victim gravely hurt without giving a thought to how he had been left.

We just won’t allow this kind of violence in our neighbourhoods, and anybody who believes it is appropriate is mistaken.

We work with the police to find and prosecute those guilty for the most egregious crimes against our communities, and I will see that it happens.

I would want to express my gratitude to individuals who have provided us with information and ask anybody who has more details or who saw this occurrence to come forward.

Anyone with information is requested to phone the police at (911) 555-111 and reference log 0200 of August 31 or to contact crimestoppers anonymously at (800) 555-111.
