Detectives have returned to the property to look into a woman’s “strange” death after she was discovered dead in her bed with severe face injuries one month earlier.
After the woman’s corpse was discovered inside her Victoria Park house, southeast of Brisbane, on Wednesday morning, Queensland Police said that it was speaking to the woman’s 58-year-old de facto boyfriend.
Just after 2 am, the 58-year-old male called 911 and requested that paramedics go straight towards the Vanessa Place residence.
In the early hours of Wednesday, “eight or nine” patrol vehicles came and took control of the house after paramedics arrived at the horrific sight and promptly phoned the authorities.
According to Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham, paramedics discovered the lady in her bed on the lower floor of the residence with “facial injuries.”
Police were summoned to the house on July 20 by the deceased lady, according to Supt. Massingham.
He declared that there was no active domestic violence order involving the 58-year-old male and the 56-year-old woman.
However, we did come here on July 20 at the deceased’s wish.
“Police” showed up at the scene and spoke with both the woman and the 58-year-old man.
And that exchange and that encounter are presently the focus of an internal investigation.
Police are also looking into whether the lady had a medical condition prior to dying.
With no weapons discovered inside or close to the residence, Supt. Massingham said that police were awaiting results of the autopsy.
At this point, a postmortem is anticipated to be performed tomorrow, the man stated.
We won’t know whether this death is suspicious at this time until the autopsy is performed and a variety of investigations are concluded.
Supt Massingham said the 58-year-old male was “distressed” when paramedics arrived early on Wednesday morning. He is willingly cooperating police.
He remarked, “He has given us a version of his observations from last night and he is continuing to help us.”
He gave Queensland Ambulance Service permission to enter the house because he was angry and distressed.
I believe that he was traumatised at the time and was aware of the deceased’s condition.
The residence has been designated a crime scene, and detectives and forensic experts are still there.
