University of Abuja’s Governing Council approves the promotion of 44 academic staff members and two bursars

The elevation of 44 academic staff members to the positions of professor and associate professor has been accepted by the Governing Council of the University of Abuja. Twenty more employees were elevated to associate professor in addition to the 22 who were promoted to professor.

The promotion of two bursars to deputy bursar was also accepted by the Council.

Council discussed and approved the promotions at its 92nd and 93rd Regular Meetings, which were held on March 30 and 31, 2022, and June 28 and 29, 2022, respectively.

Examining the list of promotions indicates that academic staff members received promotions across a variety of positions. There were promotions in veterinary medicine (7), law (4), economics (3), biological sciences (3), counselling and guidance (2), and mathematics (2).

Among the specialisations of other recently promoted people are theatre arts, medical biochemistry, public administration, medicine, engineering, science, environmental education, and geography.

Professor Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, the vice chancellor, congratulated the staff members and said that their promotion was proof of their consistent commitment, diligence, and discipline.

According to Na’Allah, the University administration is committed to making sure that all staff employees receive promotions when they are due, with the cooperation and direction of the Council.

He stated, “I must congratulate all of our staff who were promoted at the 92nd and 93rd Regular Council meetings. Without a doubt, this demonstrates their hard work, diligence, and determination. These are characteristics that our team at the University of Abuja encourages and promotes.

“I urge the staff to continue working even harder, as this position does not represent the end of academic brilliance. These professions need greater effort, responsibility, and innovation. You must demonstrate that this is only the beginning of your accomplishments.”
