Two die Lincoln Highway crash

A tragic car accident that claimed the lives of two beloved members of a small town community has left residents of Whyalla in South Australia in mourning. The crash occurred on the Lincoln Highway between Whyalla and Port Augusta just before 7:30 am on Wednesday when a Toyota Rav 4 and a Hilux ute collided head-on.

Both drivers, 37-year-old Kimberley Porsche, a mental health worker, and 35-year-old Travis Terry, a father, died instantly from the impact. Terry’s 27-year-old workmate, who was a passenger in the Hilux, survived the accident with minor injuries and was treated at the hospital.

State member for Giles, MP Eddie Hughes, paid tribute to the deceased, acknowledging their roles as pillars of the community. Terry’s sister Kira Jade also posted an emotional tribute on Facebook, describing her brother as a beautiful person with a contagious laugh and gorgeous smile.

Pursche, who chaired the Whyalla Suicide Prevention Network, was highly respected in her field and was a finalist for the Rural Doctors Workforce Agency Rural Community Health and Wellbeing Award in 2022.

Her colleagues at CentaCare Catholic Country SA, where she worked as a Training Coordinator, described her as a highly regarded and caring individual who touched the lives of many in the community.

The loss of both Pursche and Terry has deeply affected the small town, and their warm tributes are a testament to the positive impact they had on those around them.
