IPHONE called cops to Lincoln’s worst car crash ever

The emergency services were informed via a function on the recently introduced Apple iPhone 14 that the user was involved in an automobile accident in Lincoln, Nebraska, that resulted in several deaths.

In what the police have called “the deadliest collision in Lincoln in recent memory,” all six occupants of the vehicle perished.

Six young people were riding in a car that smashed into a tree early on Sunday morning. There were no witnesses to the collision, but a passenger’s smartphone immediately informed first responders even though everyone in the car was either dead or paralyzed.

Around 2.15am on Sunday, a Honda Accord carrying five guys crashed, killing all of them instantly. Later, a critical-ill 24-year-old lady passed away at a neighboring hospital.

The 22-year-old driver, together with three passengers who were 21, 23, and two other 22-year-olds, including a guy by the name of Jonathan Koch, are among the five other people who perished in the crash.

According to WOWT, the remaining individuals are unknown.

Police revealed how they were contacted after the iPhone that identified it had been in an accident and immediately phoned first responders when the user didn’t react called them. The reason of the incident is still being investigated.

The iPhone 14 contains a brand-new sensor with a high-G accelerometer that can identify rollovers, side impacts, and other types of auto accidents.

The “crash detection” function only works while a vehicle is in motion.

According to Assistant Chief Michon Morrow of the Lincoln Police Department, “This is the worst collision in recent memory.” “We’ve been trying to come up with another accident as horrible, but we haven’t,” someone said.

“In my 25 years with this department, I can’t recall anything this awful. It will take some time for us to determine the exact reason of this tragedy, Morrow said.

We are investigating all possibilities, including driving while intoxicated, speeding, or inattentive.

The crash’s witnesses have not yet been located by authorities.
