Tucker Carlson broadcasts clips of previously unseen surveillance footage

On Monday night, Tucker Carlson broadcasted clips of previously unseen surveillance footage from inside the Capitol on January 6.

He highlighted the movements of Jacob Chansley, known as the ‘QAnon Shaman,’ who appeared to be escorted through the Capitol by an official.

Chansley passed a line of riot police who made no move to stop him and eventually disappeared through an open door.

Carlson claimed that this footage challenged the prevailing narrative of the riot as a violent insurrection and that those who stormed the Capitol were not insurrectionists but ‘sightseers.’

He pointed out that they were orderly and meek and appeared to revere the Capitol.

Carlson also aired images of Officer Brian Sicknick, who later died, seemingly healthy and vigorous after the riot. This challenges the widely held belief that the riot caused his death.

Carlson has been given over 40,000 hours of unseen surveillance camera footage from the riot by Kevin McCarthy, the Speaker of the House, and will air select clips this week.

During his broadcast, Carlson also referenced Ray Epps, a rioter who supporters of Donald Trump claimed was an FBI informant.

Epps has since testified that he was not working for the government. Carlson described the surveillance footage as ‘mostly peaceful chaos’ and claimed that ‘very little about January 6 was organized or violent.’

In conclusion, Carlson’s broadcast of the January 6 footage challenges the prevailing narrative of the riot and provides a different perspective on what happened that day.

The footage shows the movements of the ‘QAnon Shaman’ and Officer Brian Sicknick, among other things, and suggests that those who stormed the Capitol were not violent insurrectionists but rather ‘sightseers.’
