Post divorce drinking has made Drew Barrymore’s therapist cancel their sessions

In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Drew Barrymore opened up about her struggles with alcohol abuse following her divorce from Will Kopelman.

Barrymore, who hosts “The Drew Barrymore Show,” revealed that her drinking had become so intense that her therapist, Barry Michels, quit on her.

Barrymore explained that she began drinking heavily after feeling like she failed to provide a unified family for her two daughters, Olive and Frankie.

Her drinking soon spiraled out of control, and even her closest friends, including actress Cameron Diaz, found it “difficult to watch.”

Although her therapist and friends tried to intervene, it wasn’t until 2019, after filming the first episode of her show, that Barrymore was finally able to stop drinking.

Despite still wrestling with the consequences of her past struggles with alcohol abuse and how to talk to her children about it, Barrymore remains hopeful for the future.

She also reconnected with Michels, and they resumed their professional relationship.

Barrymore has been married twice before and now co-parents her two daughters with Kopelman.
