Drew Barrymore confessed that she did not bring her glam squad with her to the hospital when she went into labor and delivered her daughters, contrary to popular belief. In today’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the talk show presenter illustrated how unattractive she seemed during giving birth.
Drew, the mother to 10-year-old Olive and 8-year-old Frankie, was joined at this morning’s Drew’s News table by Total Bellas actresses Nikki Bella and Brie Bella, along with her co-host, Ross Mathews. As they enter the delivery room, pregnant women are putting on anything from “mascara and lip gloss” to a “full face of glam,” according to one article.
But why make the effort? Nikki explained that some mothers desire to “look their best in their baby’s first photographs,” while others claim that doing so makes them feel “put together and confident.”
“Drew, I must inquire. Did you wear cosmetics?” Barrymore responded to Nikki’s inquiry, “Would you like to see what I looked like when I was giving birth?”
The Never Been Kissed actress continued to lay over her desk with her head protruding from the front. When she returned to her seat, she stated, “That is how I appeared. I did create a playlist, though.”
Both Bella sisters, who gave birth to their kids within twenty-four hours of one another in 2020, claimed that, like Barrymore, they did not wear makeup when giving birth. However, they did create a playlist! Therefore, perhaps this is the true trend here.
Barrymore stated of the issue, “At first, I thought, ‘Wow, this is really bizarre’” “When I saw the footage of the women in hospital gowns, I told them, ‘You do whatever you need and want to do in this moment.’”
