Because she posted a video of Drew Barrymore having fun in the rain, she was accused of being racist.

In a TikTok video of herself enjoying a downpour, Drew Barrymore was called racist by onlookers who thought she had ripped off the “black guys frolicking” fad.

An irate fellow TikTok user with the username @amushroomblackly made the claim.

Due to the fact that the video resembled a ‘frolicking’ trend launched by black TikTokers earlier this year, she said Barrymore was an example of a colonizer “who disregard and discard the limits that black innovators have imposed.”

In the video Barrymore shared with her 6.5 million followers, she joyfully strolls around in the pouring rain with a wide smile while admonishing her audience to “go outside into the rain whenever you can! Don’t pass up the chance.

You and I both know you are capable of enjoying the rain, frolicking freely, without shooting it and publishing it on TikTok, said amushroomblackly in a weird comment to the actress’s video.

Additionally, she said that Barrymore “cosigned folks who really go out of their way to disregard and ignore the limitations that black inventors have established.”

In a video uploaded to Libs of TikTok’s Twitter account, she pointed at the camera and stated, “And now you’re one of those people.”

The TikToker was upset over a May trend that showed black males having fun while racing around in fields or other natural surroundings. The fad immediately caught on and became viral.

Why is it so vital to all of you to treat us like we don’t matter, I suppose my question would be? Before laughing and ending the tape, Barrymore’s accuser alleged.

He can be heard grinning and saying, “Oh my gosh, I’m going through a field frolicking!” as he runs across a field in what is said to be the video that launched the craze on TikTok in May.

The hashtag #blackmenfrolicking was used more than 600,000 times on TikTok as more black individuals participated in the fun.

As other black women joined the movement, it eventually expanded to new audiences.

Upon reading the article, one Twitter user criticized the public for “picking on one lady (desperate for views) labelling Drew Barrymore a racist for dancing in the rain? Let’s start trending the crucial things.

Shukri Abdullahi Abdirahman, a politician, tweeted, “I’m so completely perplexed. Someone, please enlighten me as to the relationship between playing in the rain and black folks.

I’m completely perplexed.

Someone, please let me know how playing in the rain is related to black people.

Are there historical instances of white people playing in the rain committing crimes against black people?

My inquiries are sincere.

The user then responded to the initial video with numerous others, defending it and criticizing Barrymore’s upbringing by stating, “Aw poor Drew had a horrible life, said the white lady to the black woman.”

She expressed shock at the response to her video, adding that some viewers wanted to “dismiss my perspective on my own TikTok, but support Drew.”

According to her, Drew Barrymore’s video of her taking pleasure in the rain “opened the floodgates for those who denigrate black innovators.”

The user said, “This is crazy, y’all are so reacting… ” as he ended the video. I said what I said.

In a related video that she published in May, Barrymore once again urged viewers to get outside and take advantage of the rain.
