The Queen to have a ‘small, intimate gathering’ at Balmoral Castle

Due to rising health concerns, the Queen “cancelled her usual welcome to Balmoral Castle” and would instead conduct a “small, private gathering.”

The 96-year-old king had been anticipating the occasion since arriving to the estate in Aberdeenshire in late July.

She won’t participate in the brief ceremony outside the Castle gates for the first time, apart from the epidemic, since yesterday’s event was postponed and substituted with the smaller gathering.

‘The traditional welcome to Balmoral is normally cemented in the Queen’s calendar and something Her Majesty really enjoys, being able to greet locals who travel to see her,’ a royal source said, according to The Mirror.

“The ceremony will not take place in its traditional form, which is a bitter disappointment.”

Other publications said that in light of Her Majesty’s sporadic mobility issues, the change was “a harbinger of things to come.”

The private event was “in accordance with modifying Her Majesty’s schedule for her comfort,” according to Buckingham Palace, which downplayed worries about her health.

Last year, the Queen visited Shetland Pony Lance Corporal Cruachan IV, the mascot of The Royal Regiment of Scotland, and reviewed a Guard of Honour while wearing a stunning pink costume.

The event officially kicks off the monarch’s stay in Balmoral, where she traditionally stays until the beginning of October.

But this year she’s going to a private party on the gardens of the castle.

As usual, the Queen will inspect the troops, but no television crew, photographers, or reporters will be there.

The queen will reportedly stop her vacation in Scotland to fly to England and call on her 15th Prime Minister to form a cabinet, according to The Mail on Sunday.

On September 6, Boris Johnson will officially present his resignation to the Queen, as he has indicated.

The victorious Tory candidate will then be “invited” to become prime minister and announced by the monarch.

To formally accept the invitation, they are anticipated to meet the Queen.

The Queen is said to have informed aides she would make an exception this year and fly to London before she regularly returns from her Balmoral vacation in early October.

According to a source, Her Majesty does not anticipate the new Prime Minister visiting Scotland, therefore the Queen will go down to meet them.

Her Majesty is said to enjoy spending time in Balmoral and often hosts her family there in the summer.

She arrived in Scotland on July 21 and has been residing at Craigowan Lodge since since.

It happens after a furniture-laden vehicle was seen outside Balmoral on Saturday after arriving from Windsor.

A wheelchair-accessible elevator was installed last year at Craigowan Lodge, one of several adjustments made to Balmoral in recent years.

In addition, a modern intercom system, a new security gate, and several new CCTV cameras were added.
