At Balmoral Castle, Queen Elizabeth ‘died quietly’ 


Balmoral Castle is the Scottish vacation residence of the royal family.

Prince Albert purchased it for Queen Victoria in 1852, and in 1856 he chose to demolish the current structure and replace it with a larger one.

Queen Victoria wrote that Balmoral Castle might “make one forget about the world’s sorrowful turmoils.”

She also noted that everyone at Balmoral Castle appeared to exude freedom and tranquility.

The 50,000-acre complex contains a total of 150 buildings.

Among these structures are Craig Gowan House and Birkhall, the residence of Prince Charles.

The Queen entertains guests in the stately Drawing Room of the palace.

In September 2022, Queen Elizabeth II waits in the Drawing Room before greeting freshly elected Conservative Party leader Liz Truss at Balmoral Castle.

Recently, she welcomed the incoming prime minister, Liz Truss. The meeting would have ordinarily occurred at Buckingham Palace, but due to mobility concerns, the Queen remained at Balmoral Castle.

The castle’s study contains an impressive library.

As part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, an exhibit at Balmoral Castle showcased a selection of her attires from her many visits to the estate.

In March 2022, assistant curator Sarah Hoare modifies ensembles worn by Queen Elizabeth for the inauguration of the “Life At Balmoral” exhibit.

The “Life At Balmoral” display also featured an art installation, historic automobiles, and Prince Charles’s old toys.

The expansive property includes a farmhouse, a dairy farm, and gardens.

It’s a quiet vacation for members of the royal family.

The grounds are situated on the banks of the River Dee and boast excellent landscape.

Since July, Queen Elizabeth has been residing at Balmoral Castle. Additionally, she went in May before to the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Princess Eugenie stated in a documentary that a typical day at Balmoral consists of “walks, picnics, dogs — a lot of dogs, there are always dogs — and people constantly entering and exiting.”

Princess Eugenie stated in the documentary “Our Queen At Ninety”: “It’s a great base for Grandma and Grandpa, for us to visit them up there, where there’s enough of space to breathe and run.”

Eugenie described Balmoral Castle as “the most magnificent location on the planet.”

Queen Elizabeth visited Balmoral Castle in September 1952 with one of her Corgis.

“I believe grandma is happiest there,” she remarked.
