However, on the morning of Tuesday, January 3, 2023, DCS published a statement stating that peace had been restored at the Boksburg prison.

“We will never allow the subversion of the Correctional Services Act by disobedient offenders who continue to terrorize communities and officials by committing crimes while in lawful custody.
“Those who own them and bring them into our facilities illegally.” “The perpetrators have identified themselves via social media, and their actions will aid in the disciplinary procedures,” said Nxumalo.
The DCS will conduct a comprehensive examination into whether the Festive Season Security Operation will continue as planned.
