Shay Mooney, a Dan + Shay member, began the new year by publishing shirtless before-and-after images of his 50-pound weight loss.
“Consistency. In six months, I transformed my entire universe. There will be no gimmicks or fads. “It’s all about consistency,” the 31-year-old posted on Instagram on Monday.
“If that exhausted guy over there on the left can do it, so can you,” he added.
Mooney stood in front of a mirror in the “before” photo, showing off a larger figure in just a pair of black Calvin Klein boxer shorts.
In the “after” selfie, however, he appeared roughly half his size while wearing a pair of gym shorts to show off his newly toned figure.
Mooney began “eating clean/drinking no alcohol and walking 7 kilometers per day.”
Several other country singers chimed in on Mooney’s trip in the post’s comments section.
“You should be pleased!” Carrie Underwood penned the song.
“Freaking getting it buddy!” ex-Florida Georgia Line member Brian Kelley exclaimed.
“Hell yes brother,” Cole Swindell responded.
Country singles by Mooney and his bandmate Dan Smyers include “Speechless” and “10,000 Hours.”
Mooney previously stated on the social media platform that he sought to lose weight after “no longer recognizing” himself.
“I got to a mental and physical point that I will never go back to,” he said on December 2. “What we eat matters. It is important who you spend your time with. It matters what you choose to do with your time. I’m grateful to the folks in my life who encouraged me to make a difference. Nobody compelled me to do this. I wanted to improve my life for the better.”
Mooney and his wife Hannah Billingsley have two boys, Asher and Ames.
“I’ve never felt more alive,” the “Speechless” singer stated at the time.
Mooney disclosed last October in a different post that he dropped the weight by “eating clean/not drinking booze and jogging 7 miles a day.” He also included “some weights” in his workout program.
The Grammy winner and his wife, Hannah Billingsley, have two sons, Asher, 5, and Ames, 2, and are expecting a third.
