Sunday at Graceland, Sarah Ferguson cited her late mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II, during Lisa Marie Presley’s funeral service.
Duchess of York, 63, said, “I think it’s time to stoke our inner fires… to celebrate the extraordinary Lisa Marie,” saying that she and Presley dubbed each other “sissy.”
“My late mother-in-law used to say that there is nothing that can be spoken to alleviate the agony and heartache of these moments, since sorrow is the price we pay for love. And how accurate she was!”
Ferguson was reciting a statement from Queen Elizabeth to New York following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The monarch passed away in September 2022 at the age of 96.
Ferguson also mentioned Lisa Marie’s late son, Benjamin Keough, who committed suicide at the age of 27 in July 2020.
“We look to Lisa Marie, who lost a son,” Princess Beatrice’s and Princess Eugenie’s mother continued. There are no adequate words for mothers who have lost children.
Ferguson then addressed Lisa Marie’s three daughters: Riley Keough, 33, and Finley and Harper, both 14 and identical twins.
“Today we discuss action. For Riley, Harper, and Finley, we advance in your support,” she stated. “We are all with you, and we will assist you to the best of our ability if you extend your hand.”
Alanis Morissette and Axl Rose were also present to honor Elvis Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, who passed away on January 12 at the age of 54, at the late icon’s house.
Page Six was the first to reveal that Ferguson had arrived from the United Kingdom in advance of her longtime friend’s memorial service.
“I think she’s with Ben now,” the royal told us confidentially, adding that she believes Lisa Marie died of a shattered heart after Ben’s passing.
“I believe we must ensure Finley, Riley, and Harper have full support moving forward. She was extremely proud of them,” she continued.
