Republicans are concerned about Trump’s ability to lead party

According to a recent WPA Intelligence poll of 1,000 Republicans, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is increasingly becoming the preferred GOP nominee for the 2024 primary.

In a hypothetical nine-way primary, DeSantis would win with 40% of the Republican vote, with former President Donald Trump coming in second at 31%.

DeSantis also leads Trump by 24% in a head-to-head match-up. Other candidates included in the poll earned under 10% of the Republican vote.

The poll suggests that concerns are growing among Republicans about Trump’s ability to lead the party, while DeSantis’ popularity is rising after his 2022 landslide victory in Florida.
