Rachael Ray’s Emmy-winning daytime talk show is ending

After 17 seasons on the air, Rachael Ray’s Emmy-winning daytime talk show is ending. Ray, who recently launched a new production company called Free Food Studios, decided to end the show in order to focus on producing “in-the-kitchen content” under the new banner.

In a statement to Deadline, Ray said that she has “had 17 wonderful seasons working in daytime television” but has decided that it’s time to move on to the next chapter of her broadcast career. She is looking forward to putting all her energies into developing new and upcoming epicurean talent on all platforms.

The show, which aired every weekday and debuted in 2006, featured celebrity interviews, entertainment, makeovers, life advice from Ray herself, and of course, cooking. Rachael Ray is not the only longtime daytime show to have been cancelled over the last 12 months. Dr Phil, Judge Mathis, and The People’s Court are also set to end their runs this season, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Wendy Williams Show, Maury, Dr. Oz, and The Real have all ended within the past 12 months.

Ray’s induction into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame for her television achievements is set to take place this May, according to Mashed. The show is distributed and produced by CBS Media Ventures in association with Harpo Productions, Discovery Inc., and Watch Entertainment.
