Prince Harry asserts that the media caused Meghan Markle’s miscarriage in 2020.
In their Netflix docuseries, “Harry & Meghan,” he remarked, “I believe my wife had a miscarriage as a result of what the Daily Mail did.” I observed the entire event.
The Duke of Sussex was referring to the couple’s lengthy legal action against The Daily Mail in 2019 for releasing a private letter Meghan Markle had sent to her father, Thomas Markle.
The “Suits” alumna stated she had a miscarriage the first morning she and her husband awoke in their Santa Barbara home in July 2020, after leaving the royal family that year.
“Do we know with absolute certainty that this caused the miscarriage?” Harry replied, “Of course, we don’t know, but based on what I witnessed, I can conclude that the miscarriage was caused by what they were attempting to do to her, considering the stress that it produced, the lack of sleep, and the date of her pregnancy, how many weeks she was along.”
Jenny Afia, the couple’s attorney, stated that Markle, 41, was captivated by the lawsuit.
“Meghan and I would communicate at 1:00 a.m. or 3:00 a.m. her time, when she was awake, unable to sleep, and thinking about this case, the broader concerns, and the toll it was taking,” she explained.
Abigail Spencer, her “Suits” co-star, fought back tears as she recalled visiting the couple in their new Santa Barbara residence the day before and instantly sensing that something was amiss.
Markle admitted to not being able to sleep while showing Spencer about their home, as recounted by Spencer.
“She was holding Archie when she collapsed to the ground,” Spencer recounted with passion.
Markle disclosed her miscarriage in a New York Times column published in November 2020, in which she revealed that it occurred when she was changing her son Archie’s diaper the previous summer.
“I dropped to the floor with him in my arms, singing a lullaby to keep us both calm,” she said. “The upbeat melody was a stark contrast to my sensation that something was amiss.” “As I held my firstborn, I realized I was about to lose my second.”
Markle, who shares daughter Lilibet with Harry, stated that while at the hospital she clutched her husband’s hand and “kissed his knuckles, wet from both our tears.”
“As I stared at the icy white walls, my eyes became blurry. I attempted to see how we might recover,” she wrote.
