Maren Morris praises Meghan Markle amid ‘hate’ for the documentary ‘Harry & Meghan’

With the release of “Harry & Meghan,” Maren Morris has commented on the venom directed at Meghan Markle.

The 32-year-old country music star remarked in a TikTok video, in reference to responses to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix docuseries, “This profound hatred and displeasure towards Meghan Markle particularly — largely coming from women, I must say — is unexplainable.”

She continued, “People are saying a woman should never pull a man away from his family; this is all it is.” Have you encountered his family?

Morris, who stated she would watch the series on a flight, then listed a number of previous royal incidents, including King Edward VIII’s abdication in 1936.

The “Bones” singer reminded fans that the uncle of Queen Elizabeth II quit the royal family “because they wouldn’t let him marry the lady he loved [wife Wallis Simpson] because she was divorced.”

Morris also mentioned the late Queen’s sister, Princess Margaret, stating, “[She] did not quit the family, but I kind of wish she had” after the British monarch denied her permission to marry Peter Townsend, a divorcee.

The musician believed that Princess Margaret’s story is one of the saddest save that of the late Princess Diana. Princess Diana did not abandon her children, but she did abandon her family.

Morris, who acknowledged having a “moderate curiosity with the monarchy and the royals,” went on to describe how perplexed she was by the vitriol directed towards Markle.

“I can only speak as an American who is interested with this things, but royals or a particular member of the royal family have upset people for generations,” she remarked.

“Therefore, we are only living in this era where everything is so front-facing and people watch Netflix documentaries, etc. As has typically been the case throughout history, this all seems to be directed towards one woman. So, I am uncertain. What are your thoughts?”

The premiere of the first three episodes of Markle and Prince Harry’s Netflix series focused on the beginning of their relationship.

Morris stated that abandoning the royal family was not a novel thought.

The couple, who share a 3-year-old son named Archie and a 1-year-old daughter named Lilibet, claimed their highly famous courting began on Instagram.

“As I was going through my page, a friend of mine posted a Snapchat-like video of the two of them,” Harry recounted.

Harry disclosed that he initially saw his future wife on Instagram.

After discovering a photo of Markle with a dog filter applied to her face, the prince expressed interest in learning more about the woman behind the Snapchat filter.

He stated, “I was thinking, ‘Who is that?’”

The native of California was then informed by a friend that “Prince Haz” was interested in meeting her, to which she replied, “Who is that?”
