London — Thursday morning saw the publication of the first three episodes of a new Netflix documentary series by and about Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The six-part series has been marketed as an in-depth look into the royal couple’s early romance and their account of the events that finally caused them to step back from their full-time roles as members of the British royal family.
Early on in the series, Harry made it plain that one of the primary sources of the couple’s displeasure has been the British media, which he accused of “exploitation and bribery.”
Meghan stated, “I wouldn’t say it’s comfortable” in regards to the couple’s decision to produce the documentary. “But when you feel like people haven’t received a feeling of who you are for so long, it’s really good to be able to give them a window into what’s transpired and who we are.”
Harry says, “It’s a matter of duty and service, and as a member of this family, I feel obligated to expose the exploitation and bribery that occurs in our media.” “This is about more than simply our narrative. This has always been considerably larger than we are. Who has the complete truth? We are fully aware of the truth. The institution and the media are both privy to the complete truth since they have been privy to it themselves.”

Since moving to the United States, Harry and Meghan have spoken out about the mental health effects of the bigotry Meghan endured while a member of the royal family in the United Kingdom. During her time in Britain, she was subjected to a barrage of negative, racist tabloid stories, and a senior British law enforcement official stated last month that she had received multiple, credible death threats from the far right.
The pair ultimately decided to go to the United States and relinquish their royal responsibilities. Harry told Oprah Winfrey last year that they “did what they had to do” given the circumstances.
Harry and Meghan met in 2016 on a blind date, when Meghan was a television actor on the series Suits. Several weeks after their first date, Harry invited Markle to Botswana with him. The couple became engaged the following year and wed on May 19, 2018. Their son Archie was born on May 6, 2019.
