Today, Prime Minister Boris Johnson will convene his Cabinet and commit to continue delivering on the issues that important to the British people.
He will urge Ministers to continue through with the government’s aims of reducing financial strains on families, improving access to NHS care, making the streets safer, and leveling and uniting the country.

He will lay out his strategy for the next weeks in a speech to Cabinet, in which the government will deliver fresh policy pledges that will continue to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. This will include measures to help parents save money on childcare and a renewed push to help more people get on the housing ladder.
As he celebrates the progress made by the largest catch-up initiative in the history of the health service, the Prime Minister will also praise devoted NHS personnel.

The government launched the Health and Social Care Levy last year, promising £39 billion in investment over the next three years to help the NHS recover from the pandemic, treat patients quickly, and stop spiraling social care costs.
This is the largest amount of money ever allocated to health and social services by any administration.
This money is already having an impact, with the NHS announcing yesterday that 90 Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) have opened across the UK and have performed 1 million patient checks and tests.

These centers are critical to eliminating the Covid backlogs because, by recognizing and diagnosing problems as soon as possible, patients can move faster to treatment and care, reducing wait times.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson remarked before of the Cabinet meeting:
“This is a government that delivers on what the people of this country care about most.
“We have pledged £37 billion to support households with their finances, made our communities safer through hiring 13,500 more police officers, and tackled the Covid backlogs in the NHS by opening nearly 100 Community Diagnostic Centres so people can access care closer to home.
“Today, I pledge to continue delivering on these priorities. We are on the side of hard-working British people, and we are going to get on with the job.”
