Orlando Pirates appoints Jose Riveiro as the new coach.

It’s not at all unusual. As the Sea Robbers frequently do practically every season, the Orlando Pirates have a new coach this time.

At Orlando Stadium, Jose Riviero hopes to do what?

RIVEIRO IS APPOINTED BY ORLANDO PIRATES

As The South African website revealed in June, the Soweto giants shocked everyone by appointing Jose Riveiro as the new coach, likely surprising the players as well.

Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu David have been replaced by the Spaniard, while the latter has retained as a second assistant.

Riveiro has also arrived with his two lieutenants, assistant coach Sergio Almenara and personal trainer Miguel Bellver Esteve.

RIVEIRO SPEAKS PRIOR TO THE START OF THE SEASON

The Spaniard made it clear during Thursday’s DStv Premiership kickoff event that he is motivated to play entertaining football that will draw spectators back to the stadium.

“I’ve been a coach for a very long time. iDiskiTimes’ top writer David Kappel said that he added, “I spent my last seven years in Finland, in several different clubs.

“I’m from the Celta de Vigo academy, and I help young football players develop into professionals.

“Now that this opportunity is before me, I’m thrilled to be in South Africa.

“While we don’t have to play tiki-taka, we must always put on a good show.

Every week and at every opportunity, we must be courageous, proactive, and striving for a positive outcome.

“We’ll have the fans back in the stadium because we’re playing for them.

It’s a benefit and a point in our favor. Our dedication is reflected in how well we perform, he continued.

“As a coaching staff and a football team, we are aware of who we are and what we stand for. I’m eager to demonstrate it as a result.

Before their home debut against Swallows FC next weekend, Riveiro will continue working with his team.

On Saturday, August 6, the game will begin at 15:30 at Orlando Stadium.
