Orlando Pirates’ Vincent Pule praised Jose Riveiro’s DStv Premiership impact

The impact of Buccaneers coach Jose Riveiro, who appears to be gradually adjusting to the DStv Premiership, has been praised by Orlando Pirates left-winger Vincent Pule.

Orlando Pirates have played eight games in all competitions this season, winning four, drawing two, and losing two of them with the Spanish coach at the helm.

Riveiro has never won a significant trophy and is in his first coaching position outside of Europe.

He will undoubtedly experience pressure at some time to add to the club’s trophy cabinet given the expectations of Sea Robbers’ supporters.

Pule commends Rivero

As reported by KickOff, Pule described the coach as being diligent.

“He truly wants his players to put in a lot of effort, and we really get his strategy and game reading.

We regrettably let ourselves down by failing to capitalise on our opportunities.

“I believe that if we could capitalise on our opportunities, we would already be discussing a different scenario.

“With missed opportunities, sometimes it’s just a matter of luck.”

The former Bidvest Wits player is certain that the team has what it takes to compete in all of the leagues they will participate in this year.

The league is still in the early stages of the season, and several clubs are still working to perfect their strategies, according to Pule.

“I believe that after 10 games, we will be able to see what has transpired, but I am confident that teams will perform well.

“This season, the group has a lot of depth.

“I believe that we have excellent players who are capable of competing anywhere in the globe, therefore I believe that the squad’s depth will be crucial to our efforts to win every cup we will play for this year.

“I believe it will be crucial that everyone has a chance and remains healthy,” the author said.
