Murdaugh’s new story is that he was at the kennels but went back up to the main house

Alex Murdaugh, the disgraced legal scion accused of murdering his wife and son, has changed his story and claimed that he was briefly at the kennels where his family was killed but went back up to the main house around a minute after a video was taken by his son Paul at 8.45 pm that proves he was at the murder scene.

However, prosecutors argue that by the time Murdaugh returned, his wife and son were already dead, killed shortly after 8.49 pm when their phones stopped working.

The prosecution also questioned Murdaugh’s cell phone data, including calls and footstep recordings, that occurred after the time of the murder.

Murdaugh, who was addicted to opioids, admitted to lying to the police and manufacturing an alibi by driving to his mother’s home in Almeda after the killings.

Murdaugh’s father had recently died of cancer, and his mother was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Murdaugh claimed that his addiction had made him paranoid and caused him to have paranoid thoughts, and he was incapable of reason when cops arrived at the scene.

Murdaugh claimed that he did not kill his wife and son and expressed his sorrow for his lies and the pain caused to his family members.
