Murdaugh‘s own testimony was the tipping point in the six-week trial – Juror

Alex Murdaugh, a prominent South Carolina legal figure, was quickly convicted of murdering his wife and son after a juror believed that his own testimony was the tipping point in the six-week trial.

Juror Craig Moyer, who was one of the jurors for the case, said that he believed Murdaugh was guilty after he emotionally admitted he lied to authorities about his whereabouts the night of the double-homicide.

He also said that the dog kennel video with Alex Murdaugh’s voice on it, shot minutes before the gunfire began, was another crucial piece of evidence.

Moyer also pointed out that two jurors initially did not believe Murdaugh was the murderer, but they changed their minds during the deliberation process.

Moyer said that deliberations were heated and the dismissed juror’s request for a dozen eggs was strange. The unidentified woman was booted from the jury after she was caught talking about the case outside the courtroom.

When the judge asked her if she needed to collect any personal items, she replied by saying, “a dozen eggs” – a remark that had the entire courtroom laughing.

Moyer said he found the request for eggs weird, but explained that he thinks another juror brought them in and gave them to her as they were farm eggs.
