Juror Gwen Generette confirmed that Alex Murdaugh’s kennel video play a huge part in the jury’s guilty verdict

Jurors in the trial of Alex Murdaugh, who was found guilty in the murder of his wife and son, were convinced of his involvement after hearing his voice in a Snapchat video recorded just minutes before the killings.
The video, taken by Murdaugh’s son Paul, captured the defendant yelling at the family’s dogs near their kennels on their Moselle property.
Murdaugh initially denied that the voice in the video was his, but later admitted to it while testifying. The jurors said that the kennel video played a major role in their decision to find Murdaugh guilty.

The jury deliberated for just 45 minutes before reaching a verdict, surprising many experts. The jurors said they largely made up their minds after hearing Murdaugh’s testimony.

The defendant maintained his innocence even after being found guilty and was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences. He also faces charges of at least 99 separate financial crimes.

Prosecutors argued that Murdaugh killed his wife and son to distract from his mounting financial crimes, but jurors said they still do not know the exact motive for the killings.

One juror speculated that it may have been driven by greed and a desire for control. Despite Murdaugh breaking down in court and on the stand, jurors said they believed his emotions were not genuine and that he was performing for the court.

Murdaugh’s case has garnered national attention due to his status as a prominent lawyer in South Carolina and the bizarre circumstances surrounding the murders of his wife and son.
