Mum was leaving for Bali when she discovered her daughter was in a bus crash in Melbourne

A mother commended Jetstar for giving her a full refund on her Bali trip after she learned on the way to the airport that her teenage daughter had been injured in a bus accident.

Wednesday at 3.15 a.m., the kid was traveling with 26 classmates from Loreto College Ballarat to Melbourne airport for an excursion.

In the city’s north-west, near Bacchus Marsh, a truck crashed with their schoolbus, causing it to roll 50 meters down a slope.

32 pupils and staff members were sent to the hospital, and one student’s leg was partially severed.

Wednesday afternoon, a mother posted on a private Facebook page that her daughter was physically unharmed but emotionally traumatized by an incident.

The mother added, “I wanted to express how Jetstar has mitigated the impact of what has been a dreadful day for my family.”

“We were on our separate ways to the airport for our trip to Bali when we learnt of the severity of the crash.

“Their school trip to Space camp in the United States, which was scheduled to occur while we were in Bali, has been canceled, and we must care for our daughter.” As a result, our trip for today has been canceled.

Despite several complaints in recent months over missing baggage, significant delays, and cancelled flights, she characterized the cheap carrier as “nothing short of remarkable.”

She continued, “I just wanted to give credit where credit is due

.”

Please squeeze your loved ones a little harder.

Others were quick to acknowledge Jetstar’s compassion.

Oh my goodness, how terrifying for your family and the families of those involved, wrote one member of the group.

“It’s encouraging to see compassion from Jetstar. I hope that everyone is safe and that they will be able to enjoy their trip in the future.

Another said, “It’s always nice to receive positive feedback. Wishing your daughter and other students a speedy recovery.

Wednesday morning, Detective Inspector Roger Schranz of the Victoria Police Department revealed that the school bus had slowed down in compliance with the posted speed limit due to another collision on the road.

The sand-filled truck then descended the hill and crashed with oncoming cars.

Trevor Oliver, an employee of a towing company, reported to Seven News that he was around 800 meters up the road when he heard three loud collisions.

Wednesday around 3.15am, a truck and a car collided (site specified) in Bacchus Marsh, near Melbourne’s north-west.

Wednesday, a bus carrying 27 female Loreto College Ballarat students, four adults, and a driver collided with a truck and rolled 50 meters down a hill (pictured, the bus)

Mr. Oliver rushed to the situation and was horrified to see 9th to 11th graders hurt and spilling from the bus onto the grass.

“Instantaneously, your heart drops, yet to arrive and meet pupils is another universe,” he explained.

Mr. Oliver stated that he went down the hill and, with the aid of others, removed the driver’s windshield so that some of the females might escape.

Then he observed a girl whose leg was nearly completely detached from her body. “Three of us grabbed her… we freed her and brought her out,” he explained.

“I was simply attempting to calm her down. We used anything we could find to wrap her leg because we were aware that she was bleeding.

He then provided his phone to the students so they could call their family.

Mr. Oliver had worked for the Country Fire Authority and has previously dealt with trauma, but he acknowledged that it never gets easier.

Trevor Oliver (shown) rushed to the scene following a collision between a school bus and a vehicle on a Melbourne motorway.

The lack of fatalities was deemed “miraculous” by Inspector Schranz, who feels that the pupils’ wearing of seatbelts on the bus certainly saved their lives.

There are installed seatbelts. We do not know who was wearing a seatbelt and who was not, but I would guess, given that so many of them survived, that they were all wearing seatbelts… He stated that he believed no one was thrown from the bus.

Inspector Schranz described the accident scene as “chaotic” as youngsters struggled to escape the wrecked vehicle.

While the most severely injured were transported by ambulance or helicopter from the scene, a paramedic-filled bus was utilized to transport people with minor injuries to local hospitals.

Inspector: “It was horrifying for the youngsters, but as horrifying for their parents.”

Ambulance Victoria said that more than thirty people in “different conditions” were evaluated at the scene of the collision.
