Mosimane’s Al Ahli Saudi return to winning ways with a 3-1 victory

Al-Ahli Saudi, coached by Pitso Mosimane, returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Hajer Club at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The triumph comes after Pitso and his squad drew 0-0 with Al-Ain in their Saudi Arabia second division league opener last week following the conclusion of the World Cup.

Ryad Boudebouz scored the game’s first goal in the 11th minute, giving Mosimane’s team an early lead.

In the 32nd minute, Ziyad Al-Johani scored his team’s second goal of the evening to give them the lead going into halftime.

Al Ahli continued where they left off in the first half, dominating the first ten minutes of the second half.

Hassan Al Ali scored the third goal in the 68th minute to give his team a commanding 3-0 advantage.

Modibo Maiga, a striker born in Mali, scored a consolation goal for the visitors in the dying moments of the match.

Al Ahli is now in fifth place with 19 points after ten matches, seven points behind the league-leading Al-Faisaly FC.

Next Tuesday, in a league encounter against Al Arabi, the South African-born coach will try to retain his unbeaten streak and keep the team’s momentum going.
