Missing Brooklyn teen found dead on freight train tracks, shot in the head and burnt.

A teenager who was reported missing from his Brooklyn home last week was discovered dead on freight train lines the next day – shot in the head and with extensive burns, police revealed Friday.

Deandre Matthews, 19, has not been seen since around 5:45 p.m., when he left his residence on East 56th Street near Linden Boulevard in East Flatbush. Monday, officials said.

Less than twenty-four hours later, investigators discovered Matthews with “significant burn wounds through his body” and a gunshot wound to the head, lying on freight train lines around three miles distant on Nostrand Avenue — only feet from the Brooklyn College campus, officials said.

Matthews’ death was ruled a homicide, though no arrests had immediately been made Friday.

Matthews, who had smoke inhalation signs, was declared dead at the location.

Friday, police revealed that his death had been declared a homicide.

No arrests had been made as of Friday morning, nor were the circumstances surrounding his death immediately known.
